Music Midtown

Two weekends ago, September 15-17, I went to Music Midtown with my friend, Emma! This was a crazy experience, and definitely worth the money! I'm not sure where to begin, it was just amazing. I made so many friends, saw so many amazing artists, and had a wonderful time. I think the best part was that everyone was there for the same reason: to enjoy music and have a great time. It was special because everyone there is about living and enjoying every moment they have on Earth, and you can feel that when you walk in. It's an amazing feeling that's so difficult to describe, you're just exceptionally happy and excited because you feel like such a free spirit, and so does everyone else.

We stayed in Atlanta with Em's Aunt Liz in her beautiful home in Virginia Highlands! I couldn't stop taking pictures around the house, lol. Aunt Liz also cooked for us and it was amazing! When we got down there Friday night, she made coconut fish and it was great, definitely not something I eat often. Aside from Aunt Liz's fabulous hosting, Atlanta is such a wonderful city. I love driving through or visiting. My family is originally from there, so it always feels good to drive through, even if I have few memories of the city because I was young. Part of it just feels like home and I'm sure it always will.

Music Midtown was held at Piedmont Park in downtown Atlanta which was really nice. The first day, we had to walk a lot and meet up with some of Emma's friends from camp before we all made it to the festival. We glittered up and ate a few snacks and just hung out before going to the sets we really wanted to see! They had quite the selection of food and food trucks (sadly I didn't try the trucks). They had lemonade everywhere and FROZEN LEMONADE, which makes me so happy. We sat in the lawn waiting around and just listening to some artists from afar.

It was great because it was laid back, there was food, and we didn't have to do anything but listen to our favorite songs and dance for hours. What's not to love!? I was so excited to see artist Tove Lo! That's my girl, she's independent, feminine, outgoing, bold, etc. She's just someone that seems to love everything she does which makes her very enjoyable. Emma said if/when I become a famous singer, I'll be like her! Hahaha! I hope so. We also saw Wiz Khalifa, Zara Larsson, Oh Wonder, Mumford & Sons, Judah & the Lion, Future, Bruno Mars, Russ, Dua Lipa, Big Sean, etc., for more, you can check out the Music Midtown 2k17 LineupAlso, in a crowd of thousands of people, I managed to run into my friend, Shannon, from Georgia that goes to school with my cousin! I didn't even know she was going to be there, so it was crazy because like wow what're the odds!?
But a great surprise! :) <3

The weekend was about living and discovering more of yourself, and growing as a person. I learned how to live and have a fun time. Also, I learned a lot about myself. I learned to love myself and be comfortable in my own skin because everyone else was doing the same! I saw myself happier than I had ever been, and that felt amazing! It still feels amazing! It can be hard to discover who you are as a person, and I think this experience is just the beginning of growing as a person!
Sorry for such a longer post than usual! Thanks for reading my blog and checking out

A Day in Greenville-- Featuring Furman

This weekend, I was lucky enough to have the time to check out part of the Furman University campus. Furman is said to be one of the most beautiful campuses in the world, and that it was. Thankfully, it's relatively close to where we live. My dad asked if I would want to go check it out when we went to meet up with some friends, and possibly my cousin who is currently attending school there. I went not knowing if I would truly like the campus, but thought it would definitely be worth looking at. We went to the Cross Country meet there on campus where we met up with our friends. This was my first time in Greenville other than driving through, so after the meet, we went to the downtown area of Greenville and ate brunch at Tupelo Honey
(they also have other locations, two in Asheville, NC that I'm certain of)
Their portions are massive, so I couldn't eat more than half my omelet. After we ate, we walked around and took pictures. It's a fun city, it feels clean and is really upbeat. As we were walking around, we stopped to listen to these twin brothers that were playing their violins. We stayed there for about an hour staring and listening in amazement. They were phenomenal. They're known as the Synergy Twins Duo and you can find them on Instagram and Facebook if you're interested. We also walked down to the river and waterfalls. It was blazing hot which I was surprised about considering Hurricane Irma* is creating crazy weather even here in NC. I love that Greenville's architecture is also very modern, not all, but most. The glass buildings add a clean touch to the city and they're like beautiful pieces of art. And speaking of art, there are sculptures everywhere you look there, and I LOVE that. Art is in everything, but it's even more spectacular when you see something so extravagant in the middle of a park for everyone to stare at and appreciate.

It turns out that I am very well interested in Furman now and am considering applying next fall when I have to crack down on applications. I love how close it is to downtown Greenville, the beautiful campus. And the fact that my cousin goes there gives me someone to talk to in the near future about what it's like to be a student there.

* I want to include a piece about Hurricane Irma. As you have probably read multiple times, Irma is damaging homes, cities, states, etc. like crazy. Some of which are where your family lives, mine, and someone else's. So, if you would, just say a prayer if you haven't already. I hope your families stay safe, and you as well.
